Know what grinds my gears?
People who stare blatantly. Okay, it's cool, I know I look good (kidding!) and you want to check out my outfit but at least wait until I'm not looking or something. Unless you're 4 years old, I should not catch you staring at me.

Gah. If you want to dress in a way that gets attention from others, BE PREPARED FOR THEM TO STARE. That's why you do it in the first place, don't you?
What grinds my gears is kiddies complaining about people staring at them when they dress to be "different".
You totally missed the point. I don't dress whore-ishly or "different" in fact I dress pretty mainstream. We all look at each other, especially women, you check out what other girls are wearing, fine, whatever, but blatantly staring is just rude. Make sense?
Well, staring is just plain rude- it doesn't matter if you're dressed preppy, slutty, gothy or you've got 3 heads and 47 arms. I don't want to be stared at whether I'm wearing a pink dress or all black with my nose ring hanging out. I mean, sure, people are going to stare if you're dressed weird, but that doesn't make it right.
But along with your comment, I hate when the mall gawthes (with their stupid giant black raver pants) stand in a circle outside hot topic and complain about how everybody's staring at them and blah blah blah bats and bad poetry and shit. ... I guess I don't really listen to them so well.
Why is staring rude though? If we weren't all self-concious, nobody would care. It's like everyone's being paranoid about being judged or something. If I'm staring, I'm just observing. Maybe people are judging, but what does it matter if you can't read minds? And short of someone you know staring, you'll probably never see that person again.
*shrug* I've never thought it was that big a deal.
Who knew staring was such a hot-button topic. Basically, I was raised with the idea that staring is rude. I can understand small children doing it because they don't know any better but when adults do it, it just weirds me out.
Because most people are raised to believe that it's bad manners. In the grand scheme of things it's not that big of a deal, but most people agree that it's rude.
